About Mersa
She discovered her passion for art at a young age, when her parents recognized her natural creativity. While many parents dreamed of their children becoming doctors or lawyers, they knew they had an artist in the family. From an early age, she embraced paintbrushes and color theories, and throughout her education, she earned numerous awards for her creativity. As she pursued higher education, she combined her love for art with a focus on graphic design and photography. During this time, she also started her own art exhibit and taught art, eager to share her passion with others.
After college, life took a dramatic turn when she was forced to leave her home country and rebuild her life as a single immigrant mother. Art became both her means of expression and her way to support herself and her daughter. Through this challenging experience, she came to understand the profound healing power of art, especially when separated from home and loved ones. As she put it, “My art became my savior in the toughest moments of my isolated life away from home.”
